OLD FASHION-PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

These old fashion-peanut butter cookies, will certainly remind you of dear old grandma! This is the best recipe that I have found so far, for peanut butter cookies. This recipe makes, 3 dozen cookies from scratch. It uses real peanut butter, to give it that great home made taste.
So, next time your in the mood for a great, peanut butter dessert, whip up a batch of awesome, peanut butter cookies! Trust me, the compliments won't stop coming!

Old Fashion-Peanut Butter Cookies


INGREDIENTS:
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup of butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup of self-rising flour
  • 1 egg

  1. Mix shortening, butter, both types of sugar, peanut butter, flour, and egg until mixed well.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes (mean while you could pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees)
  3. Form dough into 1 inch size balls, and place on cookie sheet sprayed with pam, about 3 inches apart.
  4. Using a fork, flatten dough (once cross ways, and once downward) making a criss-cross design
  5. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until lightly browned using top rack of oven.
